Unintended Consequences.

‘Protesters who plan to shut lanes of the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge in a demonstration against rising fuel prices have said the protest will go ahead. Campaigners say they plan to take to the bridge on Monday from 7am until 7pm with banners calling for more government action on high petrol and diesel prices across the country.

The protesters say they intend to shut lanes two and three of the M4 bridge both eastbound and westbound with one lane open for all other traffic. Gwent Police said the force has liaised with protesters and it has become apparent organisers are intent on going ahead with the event.’

So we now have rail strikes, Barrister strikes, and demonstrations about high fuel prices with Wales being closed off. It is the 1st July, we are some way off a second winter of discontent, but it is not looking good.

The two years of plague 2020-21 have probably killed off the ‘Protestant Work Ethic’ for the foreseeable future. What is the point of working when government will just print more money to pay everybody whether they are working or not.

All this was done to save ‘our’ NHS , an organisation so supine that it was totally unprepared for the virus and hid the 2016 Exercise Cygnus results.

The economic damage is more than actual than it is psychological. The state will provide it is the protector of the last resort.
