Simple Maths Failure
West Midlands MEP, Bill Etheridge offered to give the Chancellor, Phillip Hammond some simple maths lessons after his disaster of a budget.
Forward projections show the UK government continue to run at a loss, with the National Debt rising for the next five years at least.
For a government who came to power on a ticket to clear the deficit, this is quite some change of heart.
Bill Etheridge MEP, the Libertarian Party UK Deputy Chairman said “Margaret Thatcher taught us that running the country’s finances were like operating a housewife’s budget.
“The simple thing to watch is that you don’t spend more than you earn. How many of us could outspend our wages every week?
“If Phillip Hammond can’t understand this basic strategy, he is in the wrong job. I’m no mathematician, but I’d be happy to try and teach him the basics.
“It was a golden opportunity for a Brexit budget that would make us the competitive envy of the world and it looks like Remainer Hammond has deliberately sabotaged it.
“The country is in a mess, with neither of the major parties able to sort it out. We have a voting choice between Corbyn’s Communists and May’s Blue Socialists.
“What a depressing picture!”
