Libertas Ante Omnium
As the polls open, there is little else more important to say this morning than to thank candidates and their helpers for their efforts through this election campaign in getting both our message and tens of thousands of leaflets out. We wish them all the luck in the world with their results tonight.
Those good wishes are extended to those kindred spirits standing for the Freedom Alliance.
There has been a good response on the doorsteps. Now, the challenge is in translating those words of support into actual votes.
Some of our dedicated community champions have been at this for far longer than the election campaign, having been doing the work that local councils were paid to do, yet failed to achieve. It has been voluntaryism at its finest. Others have stood as they were so incensed over the government’s actions during the plague years that they had to make sure it never happens again.
So, if you are reading this and have a liberty-minded candidate in your ward, please make that effort to go and place your “X” in the relevant box. For the 70% today who are not expected to vote can make a huge difference.
But win or not tonight, it has been important to send a message that all our lives are individual, and we should be allowed to live them the way we feel is right. There is no “one size fits all” way of living.
Libertas ante omnia – Liberty above all.
