A “Secret”? Really?

Former Brexit negotiator, Lord Frost, has called on the Government to ’embrace’ Brexit as he warns of ‘secret’ plot to undo the deals made in advance of the UK’s exit from the protectionist bloc in 2020.

That he should still refer to it as a secret is staggering, indicating that he believes Brexiteers are too stupid to see through the actions of this corrupt government, who still have not reversed a single EU law nearly seven years after the country voted to LEAVE.

Shadowing EU policies, as we are, leaves us with the worst of both worlds. Though we may shadow their legislation, we are no longer a full member, so there is bound to be a certain mistrust from the 27 remaining countries. Yet the same actions are stopping us maximising the benefits of being out and being able to enthusiastically engage in free trade with the 168 countries of the world that are NOT in the EU.

Lord Frost continued: “Brexit doesn’t need ‘fixing’. It needs this Conservative Government, elected with a huge mandate on a Brexit programme, to fully and enthusiastically embrace its advantages instead of leaving the field to those who never wanted it in the first place.” This party echoes that sentiment.

The Libertarian Party view has always been that apart from its many restrictions on free trade, the European Union has always been an unnecessary and extremely costly tier of government. Businesses are far better placed to advance trade than any political body.

And that’s no secret!
